Public debt

All borrowings of the State due to lack of funds in the budget make up the national debt.

Public debt is a debt to the country's legal and natural persons, foreign states, international organizations and other entities.

There are two types of state debt:
External – the state debt expressed in foreign currency to other countries, international economic organizations, and others.
Internal – the state’s debt expressed in national currency (som) to the holders of government securities (GS) and other creditors.

The Office of the public debt of the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic works out the common policies in the field of public debt.
